wow...you idiots answer just to say you don't know what the engine is. Gearhead fail. The JZ motors, are, in fact japanese engines that were primarily found in higher end toyota's and lexii. They are straight sixes that often came turbocharged, and are quite popular among import tuners. All you really need to know is that the t means that the engine is turbocharged. The engine itself should say what displacement it isw and what sort of features it has. For example, a jz-GTEvvti is a turbocharged engine with the variable valve timing system. The turbo mills can be quite expensive to source as a consequence of their desirability. As for putting it in the car, understand that just about any engine can be fit into any car provided you are willing to spend the time, the money and the trouble. Most likely, you would have to find or fab some sort of adapter to work with the bmw tranny. Expect this to be expensive. You would also have to fab in new motor mounts, get a custom exhaust, change out the computers and all other engine hardware; the list goes on and on..essentially, this is the sort of project that would result in you being bankrupt and crazy by the end of it with what would most likely be a half finished project. that said, the e30 is a variable tuanble beast as it sits, with all kinds of clubs and aftermarket support, meaning that this road to more performance would be much easier to follow

Much easier, and better supported, to install a BMW engine in your BMW.
There are a lot of people who've installed the M50/S52, S50/S52 motors from the E36 series into E30's. There's a lot of aftermarket support and a good base of knowledge for this swap, and all the parts are readily available, including wiring harness adapters, and all the other little stuff that would otherwise drive you nuts.

What is a "jz" engine? How is it linked to the e30 325ci?
